Yes, I have to close off submissions for a bit, please forgive me, but I'm starting a new job that's going to cut into my free time quite a bit. Give me a chance to get used to working more (I figure I'm gonna be coming home and crashing for at least a week!) and I'm sure I'll be able to start taking submissons again.
The first thing is the above line. Forgive the blink tag, I know it's annoying, but I want to get your attention. If it says submissions are open, then you are welcome to submit. If it says they are closed, then I'm not taking submissions at this time. I have limited time to work on this site and I don't want anyone to send me anything and have them worry that it won't be put up quickly. If you want to submit and you see submissions are closed, please wait and submit again when they are open. I will do my best to get through everything sent to me, so I can keep submissions open.
I'm going to try to keep this as simple and fair as possible.
1: No artwork any bigger than 1MB. Freeserver has a limit on how big a file can be uploaded to the server. 1MB is actually huge so if you can keep it below that, I would appreciate it. Any files sent to me that are over 1MB will be deleted.
2: Artwork must be sent to pokekierra@yahoo.com At this point, this is the only address I have for getting e-mail. If this changes, I'll let everyone know.
3: Artwork should only be sent in GIF or JPG format I cannot accept any other graphic formats. No BMP's, no TIF's, nothing but GIF or JPG. Any artwork sent to me in any other format besides JPG or GIF will be deleted. If you are unsure as to what type of format your pictures are in, please find out before you send.
4: Please send no more than two pictures at a time This is a rule just to keep things fair to everyone. I will do my best to get artwork up as soon as possible, but I don't want to be clogged up with one persons' work and have others waiting. Send two, when you see both pictures are up, you can send me two more, as long as you see the submissions are still open.
5: Absolutely NO artwork above a PG rating Nope, there is no bending on this one. I want to make sure this site is safe for anyone to visit, including children of almost all ages. If you're unsure about your artwork, you might want to send it and let me see it before you officially submit it.
Other information I should know when sending me artwork:
A: What name you want to be listed under. It doesn't have to be your real name, it can be a "pen" name, but I need to know something. If you don't tell me your name, I'll list it under whatever your e-mail name is.
B: Does your picture have a title? You don't have to have a title for your picture, but it would be nice if you did. Then I can list the title of it, with the picture.
C: What e-mail address do you want listed? Some people have one address they send from and another they want letters of comment sent to. If this is your case, be sure to let me know. Otherwise, I will automatically use the e-mail address that the pictures came to me from.
D: Any information you want put up with your index page? This is purely optional and I will happily put up your artwork with just your name and e-mail address, but if there is something else you want people to know, please send it along with your pictures and I'll put it up.
For example: "I'm 18 years old, I've been drawing since I was 3. I like to use Pastels. Besides Pokémon, I also like to draw pictures of Sailor Moon and other Animie"
Just be sure to let me know when you write me if this is information you want me to list. If you don't tell me, I'll just assume this is information you're sharing with me only and I won't put it up on this site.
Some last minute information:
I reserve the right to resize any pictures I feel are necessary. (For example, if you send me a picture of Ash that's so huge only his nose shows up in my browser, I will shrink it so it fits on the browser screen better. I have a 14" monitor, which seems to be average. You might have a much larger monitor, but most people don't.)
I will also make a smaller "thumbnail" of all pictures sent to me. The thumbnail goes on the index page and acts as a link to the full sized version. Sometimes when making a thumbnail, the artwork loses something, and there is nothing I can do about it. Please don't write to complain about the quality of a thumbnail. Remember, the thumbnail is just to give people a "preview" before they go to the full-sized version.
